Week#7 Complete

Usual Suspects have dropped out of this season. With Bills Bar closing they decided to drop out. Thank you to Pat Quinn for jumping in last minute fielding a team. I hope they are able to rejoin us in the future.

All Usual Suspect matches will be BYES for the remainder of the season, we converted existing matches to forfeits (13 points awarded). In fairness we have retained the AS points scored for these matches, but the wins/losses no longer count for individual players.

The postponed games are piling up. We are at the halfway mark of the season, so please try to complete makeup games ASAP.

This week we had some great shooting, lots of AS points all around.

In the Usual Suspects v Columbus2 601 game alone there were high ons set for each side (T42 and T20).

Congrats to Keepa on having 600 AS Points for the night(including T40 on) and Jaime Shields with 560 AS Points (including 6 corks and T20 on).

New Rule
All players must call out darts scored and acknowledge total scored before pulling them from the board. This will allow for double checking of scores.

Rule Clarification
In 501/601 Games, when a player hits their double, the game is over, regardless of darts thrown after. You can not bust if you have already doubled out. The actual rule is:
Darts mistakenly thrown by a Player after scoring the Game Shot shall not be counted as the respective leg is concluded by the Game Shot.
But if any dart falls out before being pulled, that dart does not count.

Cold Turkeys soundly defeated Beach Corkers 17-2 in the Championship Round#1 last night. The match started out normally enough with Cold Turkeys winning the first game, Beach Corkers taking the next two games, and the first set ending with a Cold Turkeys lead of 3-2. That's where things turned and Cold Turkeys took the next 14 points.

Going into Championship Round#2 next week Jan 24th 2023, the first team to 20 points take the championship.

Playoffs Round#2 Results Jan 10th 2023

Playoffs Round#2 Results
Beach Corkers defeated Sons of Flatbush 10-3. The Sons of Flatbush opened strong taking a 2-0 lead, but Artie answered in his match with 2 tons and a win. Vinnie(T17) followed up with a tough win over Doyle(T20) to tie the match. Tom's win over Kenny gave Beach Corkers a 3-2 lead, Doubles cricket was swept by Beach Corkers (Rob opened 2nd match with R7),giving them a 7-3 lead. Cricket singles began with Johnny Eyes (R5) defeating Mike(R6), before Beach Corkers closed out the match with wins by Artie(R5), Rob(3C), and Tom(R5). Giving Beach Corkers a 10-3 match win, and place in the finals.

Cold Turkeys defeated Red Thunder 10-9 last night in close match. Red Thunder opened with a 3-2 lead, then splitting Doubles Cricket, making it 5-4. Red Thunder started strong winning the first 2 Cricket Single matches and opening a 7-4 lead. Cold Turkeys won the next 3 to tie the match up at 7-7. Red Thunder won Doubles 01 match retaking lead 9-7. But Cold Turkeys refused to give up and took the final game and match, coming away with a thrilling 10-9 win over the top seed.

Playoffs Round#1 Results Jan 3rd 2023

Playoffs Round#1 Results
Beach Corkers defeated Wolfpack 10-9 in close match, decided by the last game, where both teams had shots at their double off. The match opened with Beach Corkers taking a 4-1 lead, Artie threw 80-Off. Wolfpack winning the next 5 points to take 6-4 lead(Joe Negron throwing R9), and Beach Corkers tying it going into the final 01 rounds. Wolfpack took the 01 double match to take 9-7 lead. The final game had Wolfpack's Al Baron shoot first with a T20 On, with both teams having a shot at their double off, Rob won for the Beach Corkers.

Congratulations to Wolfpack on a great season of darts. Last night Joe Negron hit a R9, Steve Hynes hit T40, and Al Baron had T20-On.

Cold Turkeys defeated Beach Bratz 11-8 last night in another close match. Cold Turkeys opened a 4-1 lead, extended to 7-3 before Beach Bratz began a comeback and tying the score 8-8, with the last game deciding the match. Both teams had shots on their doubles, but in the end Cold Turkey closed it out winning the game and match.

Congratulations to Beach Bratz on a great season. Although they started slow they finished the season very strong and look forward to next season.

Week#2 was a late one!

Completed Week#2 last night. There was some great darts, check out the stats. Congratulations to Artie at Beach Bar, moving dart tech ahead with installation of new dart PTZ-camera and Unicorn Solar lighting system, now everyone can see the board up close and personal on big screen TVs. No more guessing what's hit. Check it out over this season.

Congratulations Bobby "Bullseye" Clemente on becoming a Granddad!
Bobby's grandson Christopher came home from hospital this week, and is already a Giants fan. Proud Grandpa has some great pictures of them watching their first Giants game at home, so please ask to check out next time you see Bobby.
